An abstraction in photography may be a feature or complete scene that seems unreal, or perhaps symbolizes something within the photograph that would appear uncanny or a bit quirky. Examples might include: a linear, but random arrangement of trees, shadows or reflections casting distorted patterns, gargoyles or deformed grotesque images in rocks, polygons and crystalline features formed in ice and snow, and other objects that appear distorted. As you view these photographs, use your own imagination and sense of abstract thought.
