The basis of seeking the truth is through a legal process (discovery) and it is the foundation of our country’s civility. Without confidence in our legal system, the pillars of our governance weaken; deceit, lies, and propaganda will prevail. A society that is unable to distinguish and understand the truth is doomed to self-destruct and ultimately becomes extinct. Factually objective, well-documented credible references reposted in peer reviewed outlets are the means from which we become a well-informed society. Anyone unwilling to read these materials, or those whom reject the premise of honest, reporting in journalism and peer reviewed literature, are constrained to live their lives as an ignorant, self-righteous population destined to be controlled and manipulated by those who are, by facts, well informed.

When a document, book, or other piece of literature is blacklisted, redacted, or blocked for spurious reasons, one should aggressively seek to obtain and read its contents (hiding behind a thin veil of national security is too often abused in favor of keeping the general public in the dark). Knowledge and understanding should not be confined to limits imposed by a minority opinion or by those who are controlling the narrative for reason other than open/public reporting. When the veracity of the reporting sources of information (scholarly, peer reviewed journals/publications/books, reputable and credible news outlets, speakers of the truth) is threatened by the very leadership foundations that predicate a democratic foundation of governance, the people are left to flounder in the darkness of ignorant bliss. Tyranny results from uninformed citizens, and from those who lack an ability to identify facts from deception and outright lies.
